"Previously, articulated buses were torn down due to not meet the standard according to Dir. Gen (Transportation Ministry)'s version, unsuitable chassis was disputed. But Chinese bus branded Weichai, could be bought up to thousands," he expressed.
Former Regent of East Belitung did not mind about the administration error. "The important is the bus should be non-flammable, have a good suspension, not break down, like the current buses. If one bus contains 111 seats, it's like a train. The seats is 30 indeed, but it can transport more people if they stand," he asserted.
He claimed, such matter is not the first time in bus procurement. A couple time ago, the city had received grant corporate social responsibility (CSR) in form of 5 articulated tour buses from Mayapada Group. It is just, Dir. Gen of Land Transportation for Transportation Ministry refused the bus branded Mercedez Benz to operate as the bus’s chassis did not meet standard. Then now, the bus is torn down again.
